Forest Cafe Alpacas Open House Sat 13.9.2025 12-15

During the open day of the alpacas at the Forest Cafe, you can visit the alpacas in their own enclosure for free, guided by an instructor. The enclosure is open on the hour at 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00, (15:00).

The introduction lasts about 20-30 minutes, during which you can feed the alpacas, ask the instructor about the alpacas and spend time with the alpacas. We allow a maximum of 10 people into the enclosure at a time, children accompanied by adults on a first-come, first-served basis.

On the terrace of the forest cafe, you can try carding raw wool by hand and needle-felting it for yourself as a small souvenir.

The forest cafe’s services are available during the day from 11 am to 4 pm, and you can also grill your own snacks on the fire pit. The cafe sells small savoury and sweet snacks and soup lunches from 12 pm to 3 pm or as long as soup lasts.

In case of bad weather, the alpacas can be seen in the yard stable.

Treasures of Saimaa Forests theme week 19-28 September 2025

Treasures of Saimaa Forests is a new kind of theme week, highlighting the magnificent forests of eastern Finland, their delicious treasures and wild experiences.

The week’s events combine Eastern culture, forest produce, and Saimaa culinary tradition for a joyful gathering.

Participating companies offer tastings, themed menus, campfire dinners, mushroom cruises, workshops, forest yoga… get to know them and join the Saimaa Forest Treasures event!

Companies from South Karelia, South Savo and North Karelia can participate.

During the theme week, the Forest Cafe will offer savory and sweet treats inspired by the forest, as well as forest drinks from partners!
